Electrode paste, also known as self baking electrode, is a semi-finished electrode material made from electrically forged coal, residual electrodes, etc. as aggregates, and asphalt, tar, etc. as binders. During use, the electrode paste needs to be added to the ore furnace. When heated to around 400 degrees, the electrode paste melts and is then sintered into a solid. When heated to 800 degrees, it combines with the original ore to generate huge heat in an arc, completing the smelting of the ore.
The so-called sealed paste is only applicable to the furnace type of the submerged arc furnace. Mineral heat furnaces are divided into enclosed, semi enclosed, and open types. These different models of submerged arc furnaces use electrode paste. Due to the different furnace types, the electrode paste applied to enclosed submerged arc furnaces is called enclosed electrode paste, abbreviated as enclosed paste; The electrode paste used in open or semi closed ore furnaces is called standard electrode paste or electrode paste.
Sealed paste itself is a type of electrode paste.
Generally speaking, the quality of sealed electrode paste is one level higher than that of ordinary electrode paste. Resistance and ash content should perform better.
